The Phillip Island Classic is Australia's largest Historic Motor Racing Event and is the pre-eminent Historic Motor Racing event in the Southern Hemisphere.

It is internationally recognised and attracts competitors, support crews and tourists from UK, Europe, USA, South Africa and New Zealand.

It is one of the larger events run at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit currently attracting crowds in the order of 15000. The event attracts up to 400 competitors from every state in Australia with approximately 40% coming from outside Victoria including internationals. It has been in the top six International Historic Motor Racing Awards on four occasions and regularly receives wide coverage in leading historic motor sport publications from the UK, Switzerland and USA.

The event is entirely run by volunteers with upwards of 850 unpaid professional volunteers involved over the weekend.
