The beautiful song featured in our Phillip Island 101 campaign is 'San Remo' by incredibly talented, young local artist Steph Strings. According to Steph, when she wrote this song when she was younger, she wanted it to feature on either a San Remo pasta ad or a Phillip Island ad. Today, she has achieved the latter!
Steph Strings is San Remo-Melbourne based singer-songwriter who tells a story through her music. With influences from the John Butler Trio, Tash Sultana and Ziggy Alberts, Steph's musical style entails bursts of percussion alongside Celtic, blues and coastal fingerstyle indie-rock.
Recently, Steph performed a sold-out show at Melbourne's iconic Chapel off Chapel venue, as well as played shows supporting popular artists The Pierce Brothers, Kim Churchill and Ash Grunwald. Steph has also started impressing festival with her music, including Ocean Sounds Festival on Phillip Island, Victoria, and Winter Wine Festival in NSW.
2022 has already seen Steph release her first single in over 4 years, releasing her singalong crowd favourite "Dusty Road". In January and February 2022, Steph conducted a headline regional tour of Victoria performing to crowds around the state in support of the Dusty Road release.
July 2022 will see Steph play her first ever International performance after being invited to perform at Les Escales Festival in France, much to her International fans delight.
Steph's EP 'Wildfire' is due for release in the first half of 2022.
