George Bass Coastal Walk

Information

Follow the route of George Bass' coastal discovery voyage over 200 years ago on this popular walk, stretching from the outskirts of San Remo at Punchbowl Road to the Bass Highway (just opposite the hall at Peppermint Road) in Kilcunda.

Starting in San Remo or Kilcunda, the George Bass Coastal Walk follows the route of explorer George Bass along this cliff-top path which rises high above the pounding surf of Bass Strait and offers spectacular panoramic coastal views. It is 7km one way, so fuel up with lunch or brunch in San Remo or Kilcunda before you depart on this rewarding walk!

The winding path passes through farmland and the Punchbowl Coastal Reserve. Note that beach access is at low tide only.
