Wildlife Viewing Phillip Island

Phillip Island is home to some of Australia’s most unique wildlife. Watch thousands of Little Penguins make their way home on sunset at the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Take a walk-through tree-tops and spot Australia’s most iconic animal, at the Koala Conservation Reserve.

Take to the water on a Wildlife Coast Cruises boat tour and spot thousands of Australian Fur Seals at Seal Rocks, or experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to spot whales on their Winter Whale Cruise. See wallabies, birds, echidnas and other species in the wild on one of Phillip Island’s beautiful walks or drives. Stop by Maru Koala and Animal Park and take up the opportunity to pat a koala and feed kangaroos.

If you are a bird watcher, then you will be delighted to know, Phillip Island is a great place for bird spotting!

The mangroves and mudflats of Rhyll Inlet are a significant site for the wading birds that fly thousands of kilometres to feed here during the summer months. The wetlands are recognised under the Ramsar international wetlands agreement. Spot an array of birds species frociling in the waters at Fishers Wetlands, Churchill Island, and Swan Lake. From April to October, watch the Short-Tailed Shearwaters return home on sunset after a day out fishing!

And don't forget to watch the pelicans get fed daily in San Remo at 12noon!
