A new winter wildlife experience just off Phillip Island, designed for visitors looking to go beyond the standard wildlife park visit.

Into the Wild: Create and Connect at Maru Koala and Animal Park is a small-group, hands-on experience where guests are invited to step behind the scenes and take part in real wildlife care. Instead of simply observing animals, visitors actively contribute by working alongside experienced keepers to design and create enrichment activities that support natural behaviours, curiosity, and wellbeing.

The experience is guided from start to finish, with everything taken care of on arrival. Guests will see their creations brought to life as animals interact with them, gaining rare insight into how modern wildlife care is delivered day-to-day.

The program also includes a close-up koala encounter, where guests can learn about one of Australia's most iconic species, their behaviour, and the conservation challenges they face, followed by a seasonal winter lunch at the Homestead Bistro and relaxed time to explore the park.

Capped at just 10 guests per session, this is an intimate, premium wildlife experience designed to feel personal, meaningful, and memorable - ideal for winter travellers exploring the region or visiting during the festival season, and looking for something more immersive on their journey.
